Mr. Mbam Emmanuel Ponu joined the Bank in 2013 as a Marketing Officer. He has over 10 years of work experience in the Banking sector. Due to his excellent performance, he was appointed as the Head of Operations in the Ugbodo and Iziogo Branches of the Bank at various times. He was subsequently redeployed to head office, Iboko, and appointed as the Head of Audit and Risk before his current position as the Head of Risk and Compliance and the Assistant Head of ICT.

He hails from Izzi Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. He is dedicated, resourceful, and diligent. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Federal Cooperative College, Oji-River, Enugu State with Upper grade. He is also a certified Banker from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He has attended several training workshops from CBN, etc. He is married with children
