Lady Mrs. Nkwegu Mary joined the Bank in the year 2007 as a Non-Executive Director. She was the Board Committee Chairman on Credit and Recovery. Before joining the Bank, she has proven herself a woman of integrity, resourcefulness, and hard work in all the places she has worked. She worked with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 2004 to 2009 as Chief Accountant. She is also Co-founder of Regina Pacis Foundations, where they train people in various vocations, farming, and financial Management.

Due to her sterling performance as a Board Committee Chairman on Credit and Recovery, she was elevated to the position of Board Chairman of the Bank in 2018.

Lady Mrs. Nkwegu hails from the Izzi Local Government of Ebonyi State. She attended the following schools: Holy Ghost Secondary School, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu State, and Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. She obtained the following Certificates: B.Sc. in Accounting, OND in Accounting, SSCE, and FSLC. She is married to Sir Edward Nkwegu, and their marriage is blessed with children.
